There is reason to think that many alkaloids and other drugs which affect behavior work by being chemically similar to natural small brain proteins, of which the endorphins are one example. Many of these small proteins act on the limbic system and are concerned with our emotional states. It is now possible to manufacture small proteins made of any specified sequence of amino acids. Thus, the time may soon come when a great variety of molecules will be synthesized capable of inducing human emotional states, including extremely rare ones. For example, there is some evidence that atropine - one of the chief active ingredients in hemlock, foxglove, deadly nightshade, and jimson weed - induces the illusion of flying; and indeed such plants seem to have been the principle constituents of unguents self-administered to the genital mucosa by witches in the Middle Ages - who, rather than actually flying as they boasted, were atropine-tripping. But a vivid hallucination of flying is an extremely specific sensation to be conveyed by a relatively simple molecule. Perhaps there are a range of small proteins which will be synthesized and will produce emotional states of a sort never before experienced by human beings. This is one of many potential near-term developments in brain chemistry which hold great promise both for good and evil, depending on the wisdom of those who conduct, control and apply this research.

American planes, full of holes and wounded men and corpeses took off backwards from an airfield in England. Over France, a few German fighter planes flew at them backwards, sucked bullets and shell fragments from some of the planes and crewmen. They did the same for wrecked American bombers on the ground, and those planes flew up backwards to joine the formation.

The formation flew backwards over a German city that was in flames. The bombers opened their bomb bay doors, exerted a miraculous magnetism which shrunk the fires, gathered them into cylindrical steel containers, and lifted the containers into the bellies of the planes. The containers were stored neatly in racks. The Germans below had miraculous devices of their own, which were long steel tubes. They used them to suck more fragments from the crewmen and planes. But there were still a few wounded Americans, though, and some of the bombers were in bad repair. Over France, though, German fighters came up again, made everything and everybody as good as new.

When the bombers got back to their base, the steel cylinders were taken from the racks and shipped back to the United States of America, where factories were operating night and day, dismantling the cylinders, separating the dangerous contents into minerals. Touchingly, it was mainly women who did this work. The minerals were then shipped to specialists in remote areas. It was their business to put them into the ground, to hide them cleverly, so they would never hurt anybody ever again.

During this time, was talk of the possibility of the earth travelling through the tail of Halley's Comet. Huggins used a spectrometer to analyze the chemical quality of the comet. He found bands indicating C2, NH3, NH2, and CN. CN is cyanide. Astronomers tried to tell poeple that it wasn't clear that we would pass through the tail, and if we did there would be such low concentration of CN that everything would be fine. But nobody believed astronomers.

ERNST HAECKEL
Ernst was a prolific scientist.
He drew amazing pictures from his travels.
The diversity of the Canary Islands proves beautiful and amazing.
He seemed fixated on symmetry expecially radial symmetry.
He is also famous for his theory of recapitulation, where
ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny.
Or maybe it was the other way around, i think thats it though.
At the time there was a lot of ideas shooting around,
but in light of modern science it seems a little silly to me.
A miss of the target but genius anyway.

they go in reverse.
they are lying jerks.
that is why i did not include them in this picture.

ETERNITY UNIVERSE

i was just kidding about the clouds.
but it got me thinking
and reminded me of something i read.
its nothing that can be studied very well,
but its a thought i read.
it has to do with the universe someday contracting
just as it seems to be expanding now.
it is the idea that time as we percieve it
goes forward
and that time
as the universe contracts will go backward.
(ive never carried this thought any farther
but lets see where it goes.)
so everything that happens as the universe expands
happens again, as the universe contracts,
in reverse.
could you imagine being concious,
living life in reverse?
starting life with death.
ending life with birth.
all of this being totally normal
because its all you know.
what if at any moment
the universe reverses its direction

eternity universe blog is nothing special. but the actual universe is really gnarly.

these are the four perfect solids. all of their sides are made of identical polygons. pythagoras was a bit of a mystic. he was really into these. he was super psyched on these things. hes the guy that gets credit for a^2+b^3=c^2, but it was probly one of his folowers who figured it out or something. some accounts make this all sound like a math cult. the old pythagorean math cult. this is only 4 of these perfect solids. they thought they were so important, like they were intrinsic to the geometry of the universe and the planets perfectly circular orbits. they strongly linked these solids to the "4 elements"- earth water fire wind.

theres another one though. its the dodecahedron. the fifth element. for some reason they mistrusted this shape, so they tried to keep it a secret like it was evil. it was scary and bad to them. i went ahead and boldly blasted this shape right here in the eternity universe blog. look at if if you want. it doesnt have an effect on me but, dude maybe they were right about this thing. im not trying to sound braver than pythagoras, but it doesnt scare me.
